MEET YOUR COACH

I’m Ben, a certified Personal Trainer and HYROX Coach.

My journey into coaching started through a passion for performance. I spent years pursuing skiing at a semi professional level, where I developed an understanding of the discipline, consistency and resilience required to keep improving and perform under pressure.

Fitness Became More Than Training

Over time, fitness became about more than simply getting fitter or stronger. It became a way to build confidence, challenge myself and keep moving forward.

I’ve also experienced periods of feeling stuck, lacking direction and unsure of what came next. During those times, training gave me structure, something to work towards and a positive outlet. It helped me rebuild confidence and create momentum.

Why I Coach

I’m still learning and developing myself, and I don’t pretend to have everything figured out. Those experiences are a big part of what shapes my approach to coaching today.

I understand how powerful structured training can be when you want to challenge yourself, build confidence and create positive change.

Today, I help people become stronger, fitter and more confident through structured HYROX training, accountability and genuine coaching support.

THE GOAL IS SIMPLE

Train with purpose, perform at your best and keep progressing.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY
Ben Lowes - Personal Transformation

It's About Who You Become

The real transformation isn't just what happens in the gym. It's the person you become through the process.

You build discipline by showing up when you don't feel like it. You build confidence by doing things you once thought you couldn't. You build resilience by learning how to keep moving when life gets difficult.

And those qualities shape how you see yourself, your relationships, your decisions and your work.

FAQ

Everything you need to know

This depends on your starting point, experience, and goals. As a general guide, if you are comfortable completing a 5km run in under 30 minutes and have a beginner level of experience using weights in a gym, you’ll have a strong foundation to begin a structured HYROX preparation programme. Some athletes may need longer to build their fitness base, while others may already be closer to race readiness. The key is following a progressive approach and allowing your body enough time to adapt.

To get the best results, I recommend being able to commit to a minimum of 3 training sessions per week. Your exact training schedule will depend on your goals, experience and lifestyle, but the programme is built around developing the key areas HYROX demands, including running, strength, conditioning and race specific fitness. The aim isn’t to create a programme that takes over your life. It’s about building a consistent system that works alongside your work, family and other commitments while still moving you towards race day.

I don’t provide rigid meal plans, as I’m not a qualified nutritionist and therefore can’t offer this type of service. Instead, I’ll provide personalised macro targets based on your goals, training and lifestyle, along with practical nutrition advice and guidance where needed. The aim is to give you the knowledge and flexibility to make better choices without relying on a fixed meal plan.

Having access to a gym is ideal, especially for developing strength and becoming familiar with key HYROX event movements such as sled pushes, sled pulls, rowing and SkiErg. However, it isn’t essential. The programme focuses on building the physical qualities HYROX demands, including strength, endurance, power and resilience, and can be adapted around your available equipment and training environment. The more access you have to functional fitness equipment, the better prepared you can become for race day, but progress can still be made with the right approach.

Yes. Running is a key part of HYROX, but you don’t need to be an experienced runner to get started. The programme progressively develops your aerobic fitness, running ability, and strength endurance so you can build the capacity needed for race day.

This coaching programme is designed to give you the structure, accountability and guidance you need throughout your preparation. You’ll have a clear training plan to follow, with ongoing support and feedback to help you stay on track, adapt when needed and continue progressing towards race day.

Every athlete starts their HYROX journey from a different place, which is why the coaching programme is built around providing structure, progression and a clear path towards race day. You’ll have a complete training plan tailored to your goals, experience and lifestyle, alongside the guidance, accountability and support to help you stay consistent and keep moving forward. But the coaching is about more than training. It’s about building confidence, discipline and belief, developing the person behind the performance and becoming someone you’re proud of along the way.

Once you’ve joined the coaching programme, you’ll complete an onboarding questionnaire so I can understand your goals, training history, current fitness level, lifestyle and anything else that may affect your training. From there, I’ll use this information to build a programme around where you are now and where you want to get to. You’ll receive everything you need to get started, including your training programme, resources and ongoing guidance and support throughout your journey. The aim is to give you a clear plan, remove the guesswork and keep you focused on making progress towards race day, while also helping you become stronger, more confident and more disciplined along the way.
